We aim to host a varied range of events every year for our members - our calendar usually features a Spring Lunch, a Summer Party and a Christmas Ball - with quiz nights, networking evenings and free for members training sessions and workshops. All here in Birmingham City Centre.

Spring is set to blossom this March with our annual Spring Lunch being hosted at Zen Metro – the first of a number of fundraising drives planned for this year with a tasty Thai at the Cornwall Street based restaurant.
Your ticket will get you a three course Thai meal served platter-style and a glass of Prosecco on arrival at the exclusive restaurant, costing £40 for BPA members and £50 for non members.
The Birmingham Publicity Association aims to unite those working in the creative industries across the West Midlands and is a great way to network and have fun at the same time - along with raising thousands of pounds for charity.

Say ‘Namaste’ to the BPA Spring Lunch at Varanasi
Nothing says welcome to spring more than the annual Birmingham Publicity Association Lunch - and 2018 is no exception.
The popular event will be kicking off the first of a number of fundraising drives planned for this year with a tasty curry at the Broad Street restaurant Varanasi.
Tickets are expected to sell fast for the meal on Friday 18th May at 12.30, which will include a three course Indian sharing meal and a drink at the exclusive restaurant, costing £40 for BPA members and £50 for non-members.
Former Birmingham Poet Laureate and mindfulness coach Charlie Jordan is to host a special evening for BPA members wanting to rediscover their calm creativity for Spring.
Event host Charlie Jordan will be leading an exclusive Mindfulness Writing Workshop within the Shakespeare Memorial Room of the Library of Birmingham.
The free event is designed to help BPA members press the ‘pause’ button in life and refresh their writing practice.
Broadcaster Charlie will be guiding members to clear away their outdated habits, calm the inner critic and move writers’ block out of the way to help relax into a creative flow.
The mindfulness techniques are also designed to be easily integrated into your work and help focus on enjoying the writing process again.
Spaces are limited for the event which is suitable for both beginners, or experienced, writers.
Charlie, who is currently a drive time presenter on Smooth West Midlands, was Birmingham Poet Laureate in 2007/8.
The Mindfulness Writing Workshop will run on Wednesday 14th March between 7pm and 9pm. Booking is essential.

The BPA is proud to present a members-only opportunity to discuss the post-Brexit challenges and opportunities for the creative industries with Chamber of Commerce head Paul Faulkner.
Few are more experienced to share their business insight than the former Aston Villa CEO, and the limited places for this exclusive event will be in high demand.
Paul will be our guest of honour at the Park Regis Hotel on Wednesday, September 14th for what we are confident will be an informative, enlightening and lively discussion.
The event is FREE to attend and kicks off with drinks and canapés at 6pm at Park Regis, 160 Broad St, Birmingham B15 1DT, before Paul takes to the stage.

DATE: Friday 1st July 2016
VENUE: Handsworth Wood Golf Club
TEE OFF: Shotgun start at 10.15am sharp to ensure to all teams finish around the same time
FOURBALL STANDARD (£280): 18 holes of golf followed by slap-up fish & chips buffet
FOURBALL DELUXE (£310): includes welcome breakfast of bacon baps, tea & coffee, 18 holes of golf followed by slap-up fish & chips buffet
- You will play in your designated fourball.
- However, players will be randomly allocated to either the Sharks or Bandits team.
- You then play Ryder Cup fourball format (¾ Handicap).
- Each hole won represents 1 point. A halved hole is ½ point.
- At the end of 18 holes all points from all games are totted up to see whether the Sharks or Bandits will be victorious!
Each player will be given a team shirt, so we will need your player names, handicaps and shirt size (S/M/L/XL/XXL) along with your booking.
Each player will be able to buy up to a maximum of 3 Mulligan passes @ £10 each.
A Mulligan is a stroke that is replayed from the tee off without penalty, due to an errant shot made on the previous stroke.
The benefit being is that the hole is played and scored as if the first errant shot had never been made. Valuable!
It's a zoo out there!
Each fourball will also be given 4 animal cards. As your fourball progresses around the course you, acquire the cards based on the following golfing calamities.
- CAMEL: In the sand.
- DUCK: In the water.
- GORILLA: Out-of-bounds
- SNAKE: 3-putt (or more)
At the end of the round each card a player has in his possession represents a £10 penalty – all proceeds going to the chosen charities.
Note: Mulligans do not prevent the movement of cards.
To keep the atmosphere light and informal, we have arranged a fish & chips buffet which can be eaten in the SPIKES bar or outside, weather permitting.

This event, and the BPA as a whole, is about bringing like-minded people from the creative industries together, while raising funds for charity. Our chosen charities for 2016 are the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity and the Birmingham Childrens Hospital.
